Growing up riding and showing horses, Mary started breaking babies at a young age all the while vowing that she would be a horse trainer "some day".  As a teenager, she worked for Arabian trainers continuing to keep her eyes set on her personal goals and refusing to let anyone take those dreams away.

She attended college as an ag-business major until she was accepted into the Show Barn Apprenticeship Program at Al-Marah Arabians.  There she learned training techniques and business savvy.  From Gary Ferguson, head trainer, she grew to love reining and respect the true athleticism of Arabians.

When she returned to Ohio, Mary became the assistant trainer for Duane Esser of Esser Valley Arabians where they worked together breaking english horses.  But Mary's love of working western was strong and her own personal business was rapidly growing. She became the head trainer for Stowe Arabians.

With guidance from NRHA trainer, Bob Salyers, and 2008 Congress Champion, Brandon Brant, of Roseland Farms, Mary has taken her reining skill level even closer to the top as her two young reiners are sliding their way to stardom.  She is diligently working to excite reining in the Arabian community closer to home.

Although her love is in reining, Mary has also excelled in the sport horse, hunter, and western pleasure arenas.

Mary trains the good, old-fashioned way, gently.  Allowing the horse to learn by teaching through ground driving, together she and the horse form a bond of respect with the end result being a horse that is happy, willing, and comfortable, and one you can ride.

With several years of training experience on her own, Mary Loden is a young, up and coming trainer who'll treat you and your horse fairly.  Mary has a few training openings available in her new facility.  Be sure to take the time to visit Mary's website at www.maryloden.com. You can email her at
